RoHS
And Lead-Free Requirements
EECO
Switch is fully committed to complying with the current European
directives regarding Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and
Lead-Free electronic components. In response to these directives, we have developed a lead-free
plating alternative. RoHS compliant products be available beginning September
1, 2005. Lead-Free compliance will involve
converting to a matte tin-based plating process on switches currently
using a traditional tin-lead solder plating.
EECO Switch Series converting to Lead-Free are::
2300 and 3500 Series Micro-DIP
products
2100 & 2700 Series
StripSwitch products.
1776/1976 Series Thumbwheel
products. (All compliant as of 10/01/06).
All other EECO Switch and Keypad products are already
Lead-Free and RoHS compliant and are not affected by the European
directives.
This is planned as an across the board change for
the series affected. EECO will maintain the current part
numbering scheme in use. All RoHS complaint parts will be clearly
identified by a logo on the part, and by a label on the shipping tube.
Please
contact EECO Switch if additional information is
needed.
A Certificate of Compliance for affected products is available here.
